Scholarship Details

The BYU African Scholarship Fund is designed for African students at BYU.

​

While preference will be given to Freshmen (1st year) and/or Transfer students, all undergraduate and graduate levels are encouraged to apply.

​

The two main application criteria are proven citizenship of an African country (non-US citizenship or permanent resident status) and financial need (as demonstrated in the virtual interview). 

Application Timeline

June 1st:

Application opens for all African students to apply

July 31st:

Final deadline for applications to be considered for the 2023 cohort

August:

Finalists are notified and invited to the virtual interview round

August 30th:

Decision results shared with applicants and selected students will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
